HAIL OR WIND DAMAGED ROOF WARRANTY?

So you have wind or hail damage and an insurance check for your roof replacement, but what if your current shingle manufacturer had a LIFETIME warranty.  If it does, then you may be in luck as the roofing manufacturer may pay for the roof replacement which means "YOU KEEP THE INSURANCE PROCEEDS" .  When getting your free roof damage inspection/estimate ask the roofer if he knows what brand of shingles are on your roof.   One shingle manufacturer actually includes a warranty for up to 2 1/2" diameter hail.  The recent storms in St. Louis, Missouri caused damage and the hail was mostly smaller than 2 1/2" so you may be covered by the shingle manufacturer.

  1. Is it legal to accept the check from the insurance company and keep it even though you wont need the money? I guess by filing a report your payment would be going up and you'd have to pay the deductible.

  2. Some of the shingles on my roof fell off from a recent wind storm. I have heard that shingles aren't that expensive to replace. I'll have to shop around though and see if my insurance will cover it.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing. I almost just spent a ton of unnecessary money. I thought my roof needed some serious repairing but it turns out that all I needed were a few shingles. I even found out that my insurance will cover them. This post was really useful! http://www.finlaysonroofing.com.au

  4. The idea of holding your insurance check when you already have a lifetime warranty on the roof could get you into trouble. The roofing contractor will do a free job on damaged roofs with a warranty already and that would allow you to not have to go through the trouble of filing a claim with the insurance company. When getting your roof replaced ask the contractor what you can do to prevent or ease the damage in the future.

  5. One insurance I never thought I would need was hail or wind damage. I thought because I live in a state with mountains all around I would never need to worry about these things. I've found out the hard way that hail and wind really do affect your home. Just last month we had a terrible wind storm that has torn a bunch of shingles off my roof. I'm hoping to get my roof repaired and maybe some insurance. http://www.poskittroofing.ca/en/roof_replacements.html

  6. When there’s an issue with your roof, it’s extremely important to look after it as quickly as possible.
Also seemingly tiny troubles will promptly become significant ones. However roof problems aren’t always simple to observe, and lots of property owners will not locate troubles with their roof till the issues have ended up being destructive.

Catching troubles as early as possible will reduce your fixing expenses tremendously, yet the only way making certain you capture them is to have routine roofing inspections executed by a professional like Economy Roofing PA
